The rate outlines the price you pay for your energy usage. The rate does not include charges from your local utility that may be incurred to cover delivering energy to your home.
When you sign up for a plan, your start date depends on when your local utility reads your meter. Your service will usually start on the next meter read date after your enrollment is finalized. Different utilities have different meter reading schedules, so check with your utility for details.
If you haven't already, you'll first need to create an account with your local utility. Unless you're moving, you should already have an account.
Have your utility account information on hand when you're ready to enroll. We'll ask you for this information so that your utility can connect you to service with us.
You can sign up by clicking "SELECT PLAN" above. If you are moving to a new address, just fill out your service address information for your new home. If you are switching suppliers, we will notify your current supplier of your switch.
†Green energy plans are supported 100% by Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) that are purchased and retired in an amount sufficient to match your annual consumption. RECs are a tradeable, non-tangible energy commodity in the United States that represents proof that 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity was generated from an eligible renewable energy resource like biomass, hydro, solar or wind. Please see your Terms of Service for more information.
Licensed Electric Suppliers are required to post the highest and lowest generation service charge rate that was billed to their customers with a cumulative peak demand of less than 50kW under a variable rate offer in each of the preceding 12 months. As of December 2019, all residential customers of Direct Energy Services are served at a fixed price. You can find rate information on the supplier Rate Board that is maintained by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority at https://energizect.com/rate-board/compare-energy-supplier-rates.
