You May Qualify for Payment Assistance

Our top priority is supporting the communities we serve. To assist our customers facing financial hardship, we're providing information on agencies that can help them pay their electricity bills.

Although Direct Energy does not provide financial assistance directly, we want to ensure that our customers know their options. You may qualify for our Neighbor-to-Neighbor Bill Assistance Program or funding from the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP).

There are a few ways to apply for electricity bill assistance:

Find an agency in your county by searching the list below.
Visit 211texas.org to find agencies in your area.
Call 2-1-1 or 1-877-541-7905 and ask the operator to connect you with an agency in your community.

Please note:

Our participating agencies do their best to assist eligible customers as quickly as possible, but there may be delays due to high demand.
Assistance is issued at the discretion of our participating agencies to eligible customers, and it may not fully cover your electricity bill.
The requirements for each agency vary and you may have to provide proof of need, like your last electricity bill and a disconnection notice. If necessary, you can find your bill in your online account.
