Your friends get a Direct Energy $50 Visa® Prepaid Card after paying their first three bills in full and on time when they sign up using your code.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you referred a friend to Direct Energy:
- After the person you referred has successfully enrolled with Direct Energy and paid their first bill in full and on time, you will receive your Direct Energy $50 Visa® Prepaid Card after the next bill.
If you were referred by your friend to Direct Energy:
- You will receive your Direct Energy $50 Visa® Prepaid Card after paying your first three bills in full and on time.
There are no limits. For every eligible referral that is successful, you get a Direct Energy $50 Visa® Prepaid Card. It's that simple. Just log into your Online Account Manager at Direct Energy and follow the easy instructions outlined on your personalized Refer-a-Friend page.
If you earn more than $550 total from Direct Energy, through referrals and/or other Direct Energy incentive programs within one calendar year, Direct Energy will issue you a W-9 form. You must complete and return the form before you are eligible to receive any additional rewards or incentives from Direct Energy during that year. At the end of the year, you will receive a 1099 for your tax records.
Qualified Referral must satisfy all Direct Energy enrollment requirements including:
- Enroll with Direct Energy and provide a valid Referral ID in the Referral ID field within the online enrollment or advising the Call Center agent of the Referral ID when enrolling over the phone.
- Remain a Direct Energy customer for at least 90 consecutive days and make their first three bill payments in full and on time.
